A little preparation goes a long way. Staying aware and planning ahead is what makes every Roamer walk both safe and enjoyable. Here is what to keep in mind before and during your walk.
If a place or a moment does not feel right, trust that feeling and step away. Skip the stop, take a different street, or end the walk and come back another time. Your instincts are the best safety tool you have.
If you feel unsafe or need help, contact the local emergency services right away. Emergency numbers vary by country, so look up the local one before you set out. Most phones can call emergency services even without a local SIM. If you can, share your live location with someone you trust. Roamer cannot provide emergency assistance and is not a safety or tracking service.
Solo walking is one of the joys Roamer is built for, and a little extra care goes a long way. Favor daylight and busier streets, keep someone posted on your plans, and hold your phone a little tighter in crowds. If you ever feel uneasy, step into a shop or cafe and take a breath.
Every walk is yours to shape. Start when you like, pause whenever you want, and skip any stop that does not suit you. Nothing on the map is required, and the walk will always wait.
We build walks around a city's public, well-trodden places: its landmarks, historic cores, and main streets. We aim for routes we would happily walk ourselves in daylight. Conditions still change and no route is guaranteed safe, so we pair every walk with your own awareness and, where it helps, a pointer to official local advice.
