Program terms

This agreement is between you (the affiliate) and Roamer, a sole proprietorship registered in Ontario, Canada, which operates roamer.travel and the Roamer app. By submitting an application you accept these terms as they read on the day you apply, and the version you accepted is recorded on your account.

You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract. You take part as an independent contractor. Nothing here creates an employment, agency, partnership or joint venture relationship, and neither of us may speak or sign for the other.

Applications are reviewed by a person. We may accept or decline any application for any reason, and we may pause or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close your account we still pay commissions you have already earned in good standing.

Your handle is yours while your account is active. We may reclaim a handle that impersonates someone, infringes a trademark, or has been dormant with no clicks for twelve months.

You earn 30% of the gross amount a customer pays, before payment-processing fees and any tax, on every purchase they make within the attribution window. That includes single tours, 7-day passes and 30-day passes, and it is not limited to their first purchase.

Commission is calculated on the amount actually charged. A purchase made with a credit from an earlier purchase earns on the charged amount, not the list price.

Nothing is earned on a free tour, a voucher redemption, a comped pass, a purchase made through another sales channel, or any transaction where the amount charged is zero.

When someone follows your link we store a first-party record in their browser for 60 days. A purchase in that window is attributed to you. If they later follow a different affiliate's link, the most recent link wins; this is last-click attribution and it is the standard the whole industry uses.

Purchases made inside the iPhone app are attributed only when the buyer enters your code, because Apple provides no way for us to see which link brought someone to the App Store. Every purchase made on the web is attributed by the link.

Attribution depends on the visitor's browser keeping our record. If they clear it, switch device, or use a browser that blocks it, the sale cannot be attributed and no commission arises. We do not reconstruct attribution from anything else.

A commission is recorded the moment the sale completes and is held for 30 days so that refunds and chargebacks can settle. After that it becomes payable.

If the customer is refunded or charges back, the commission is reversed, whether or not it has already been paid. A reversal of an already-paid commission is deducted from your next payout and appears in your dashboard with the sale it came from.

We may hold a commission for manual review, for example when more than 25 sales are attributed to one account in a day. A review is a check, not an accusation, and it normally resolves within a business day.

Payouts run monthly for balances of $25.00 or more, by PayPal or Wise, to the account you set in your dashboard. A smaller balance rolls over to the next month; it never expires while your account is open.

Payouts are in US dollars. Your provider's transfer or currency-conversion fees come out of the amount you receive, and we have no control over them. We are not responsible for a payment sent to payout details you entered incorrectly.

We do not add sales tax, VAT or GST to a commission. If tax applies to what you earn, handling it is yours.

Before your first payout we ask for your legal name, your country, and which tax form applies to you. We do not collect or store a taxpayer identification number in this system. If you are in the United States and your earnings reach $600.00 in a calendar year, we will ask you for a completed W-9 separately before paying further, because that is what the reporting threshold requires. Affiliates outside the United States declare foreign status on a W-8BEN.

We may hold a payout until the tax details we need are on file. Nothing is forfeited by that hold.

You may share your link and your code anywhere you genuinely publish, including your site, newsletter, social accounts, video descriptions and community posts where the community allows it.

You may not:

• Buy through your own link, or arrange for someone to buy on your behalf.
• Bid on "Roamer", misspellings of it, or our name plus a generic term in paid search, or point paid ads at a URL that redirects to roamer.travel.
• Post your code to coupon, deal or voucher sites. It is an attribution code, not a discount, and listing it there misleads people.
• Claim your link gives a discount, a free tour, or anything else we have not published.
• Send unsolicited bulk email or messages, use bots or automated traffic, or place the link on a site with unlawful, hateful or adult content.
• Register domains, app names or social handles containing "Roamer", or present yourself as Roamer, our employee or our official channel.
• Use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse a product of yours, or modify our brand assets.

Where you are, the law probably requires you to disclose that a link earns you money. In the United States that is the FTC endorsement guidance. Disclose it plainly and near the link. This is your responsibility, and it is also just decent.

We may change the program rate for new sales. If we lower it, your existing rate stays in place for 90 days from the day the change takes effect, so you have time to decide whether to keep promoting us. If we raise it, you get the higher rate straight away.

We may change these terms. Material changes are emailed to active affiliates at least 14 days before they take effect, and the version number at the top of this page changes. Continuing to use your link after that is acceptance.

We store what you gave us at signup, your payout details, and your earnings. Our commission records hold a one-way digest of a buyer's email so we can detect self-referrals; they never hold the address itself, and you will never see who bought. Click records hold a salted digest that rotates daily and no IP address.

We handle your information under our privacy policy. You may ask us to close your account and delete your details at any time, though we keep payment records for as long as tax law requires.

Either of us can end this arrangement at any time, for any reason, with no notice required. When it ends, stop using the link, the code and our brand assets.

Commissions earned before the end are paid on the normal schedule. We may withhold commissions that arose from a breach of clause 8, or from activity we can show was fraudulent, and we will tell you which sales and why.

The program is provided as it is. We do not promise any level of earnings, traffic or conversion, and any figure on the program page is an illustration rather than a forecast. We do not promise the site, the app or the tracking will be uninterrupted or error free.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you under this agreement is limited to the commissions payable to you in the three months before the claim, and neither of us is liable for indirect or consequential loss.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction.
